Random thoughts on Mentorship
I like to see most successful mentors as Elite coaches who 'only' manage high flying teams with huge reservoir of cash and media influence.
Majority of the individuals they mentor are mavericks who
have high chances of succeeding with little or no mentorship.
We rarely get to see a strong mentor, willing to shoulder a
mentee, who is absolutely a novice in his or her chosen field, or who has a
little experience in his chosen industry but performs averagely.
The brutal truth? Everyone wants to associate with a highly
talented individual – just like the majority of the world’s population wants to
support the winning team.
What ought to be the Reality:
Talented individual who has average knowledge and performs
averagely in their chosen field needs mentorship the most. The unavailability
of mentors to guide them through, have seen them slipping down the negative
part of the curve.
Just a random thought!
