My Entrepreneurial Journey: The Accidental Genesis!

It took me a while before I finally decided to write this. A lot of writer’s block and procrastination was conquered in the process – however, I still think it’s a story worth telling. This is a story of how I came into entrepreneurship. It has never been my goal from the inception to be an entrepreneur. Nah, you all know that famous case of being a Doctor, Lawyer, Banker or a Nurse?

I have always wanted to study medicine, at a point there was a change in Trajectory – I switched from wanting to study Medicine to entering the seminary, because I wanted to be a priest. I am glad I left the minor seminary, cos na only God sabi wetin for happen.

My Journey!

In 2013, after I was denied admission into medicine and surgery at the University of Uyo, I decided to go stay with my Dad in Lagos for a few weeks, he usually goes to meet with his clients at Bourdillion, Ikoyi(I can’t remember the actual location). So on this faithful day, while coming back from work with my Dad, I came across a book seller and only one book caught my eyes across his bundle of books, “Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hills”.

My Dad has always loved reading, after going through the books the vendor had, he turned to me and said “Daddy, which book would you want to have?”; without hesitating, I pointed to the famous classic book on wealth creation – “Think and Grow Rich”.
He smiled and replied “Nnewi man, you really want to make money”, then he paid for books and we continued our journey back home.

From that day onwards, my life never became the same. The young boy who always fantasized about being the Nigerian Ben Carson is about to encounter what will become his “purpose” in life!

If my Dad knew that buying such books for me would have derailed me from our shared goal of studying medicine, I am sure he could have moved to avert that.

Just like the case of Satan and Jesus, if  Satan knew that the Death of Jesus could have brought salvation to Mankind, I am quite sure he would have moved to avert it.

Welcome to “My Entrepreneurial Journey”!
